sonpito Essentials 2.1 Release Is Here — Our Biggest Update Since Launch
Working on this release was very exciting as Version 2.1 is the most significant set of enhancements we have shipped since our launch on the Salesforce AgentExchange in October 2025.
Our goal with sonpito has always been to deliver simple, intuitive tools that meet FM teams where they work — on mobile, in the field — so that doing the job and capturing the data are the same action, not two separate ones. When the data flows naturally from the work, frontline teams can stop firefighting (learn more about getting out of firefighting mode in our blog post: Your Phoenix Moment: How IT Best Practices Can Transform FM Operations) and start planning. Supervisors get real-time visibility into what's been done, what's outstanding, and where the risks are. Executives get the numbers they need to make confident decisions about facilities investment.
Version 2.1 doubles-down on this goal. It introduces an entirely new mobile-first capability for field teams, deepens the inspection experience, and introduces preventive maintenance scheduling, and gives teams a simple at-a-glance view of maintenance spend against their assets.

Introducing the Work Prioritizer
The single biggest addition in this release is the Work Prioritizer — a new mobile widget that answers the question every field technician faces at the start of their day: what do I actually need to do first?
Before the Work Prioritizer, a technician might have open work orders, scheduled inspections, assigned cases, and outstanding tasks spread across different views and record types, with no easy way to understand which of those things was genuinely most urgent. They had to make that judgement call themselves, often without the full picture.
The Work Prioritizer changes that. It lives on the mobile home screen and surfaces everything assigned to the current user that is due within the next 14 days — work orders, inspections, cases, and tasks — classified automatically into one of three priority tiers: Emergency / Critical, High Priority, or Medium / Low Priority. Open cases are always included regardless of date, since they carry no due date. The classification is rule-based, not a manual field someone has to remember to fill in. Items are easily identified as overdue and users can tap into any item in the widget to navigate directly to that record. For teams operating on mobile, it replaces the need to context-switch across multiple list views just to find the most critical item in a shift.
Asset Cost Tracking — A Running View of Maintenance Spend
A question that comes up often in facilities management is: how much work have we done on this asset, and roughly what has it cost us?
Version 2.1 gives you a simple answer directly on the asset record. When work orders are raised and completed against an asset, the associated costs roll up automatically — total cost, subtotal, and taxes — alongside a count of how many work orders the asset has had. It's a running maintenance spend summary, not a full financial ledger, and that's intentional. Your finance team handles the books; this gives your FM team enough context to have an informed conversation about whether an asset is worth continued investment without needing to chase down data from another system.
The totals stay accurate as things change. If a work order is deleted, its costs are removed. If a work order is reassigned to a different asset, both records are updated. No manual reconciliation required.
Inspection Management — A Clearer View of Complex Programs
Facilities inspections often aren't single events — they're programs with parent inspections that group multiple child inspections across different areas, floors, systems, or teams. Until now, getting a coherent view of how a program was tracking required opening each child inspection individually.
Version 2.1 adds a dedicated Child Inspections panel to Parent Inspection records. It displays each linked child as a summary card showing its completion progress ring, current status, assigned owner, due date, and item count. At a glance, a coordinator can see which child inspections are on track, which are at risk, and which need attention — without leaving the parent record.
The desktop inspection completion experience has also been redesigned. Progress, photos, tasks, and cases are now displayed as interactive summary cards at the top of the page. Clicking a card opens the relevant view directly — the photo carousel, the task list, or the linked cases — rather than requiring navigation through the full record. The underlying progress ring has also been rebuilt to render correctly across different screen sizes, fixing a visual issue that appeared on some desktop configurations.
PM Schedule Builder — Preventive Maintenance, Simplified
One of the most time-consuming parts of running a preventive maintenance program is setting it up in the first place. Which assets need to be on a schedule? How often? Who owns it? What work needs to be done? Answering those questions across dozens or hundreds of assets, and keeping the schedules accurate as things change, is exactly the kind of administrative overhead that pushes FM teams back into reactive mode.
The PM Schedule Builder is a new guided wizard that walks coordinators through creating preventive maintenance schedules step by step — selecting a work order template, choosing assets, setting frequency and dates, and reviewing before committing. Everything is handled in a single flow, from a single place, without needing to manually create work orders or configure records individually.
Asset selection is context-aware. Launching the wizard from an Asset record pre-selects that asset immediately. Launching from a Product record pre-filters the asset list to that product using cascading Family, Type, and Brand filters, so you are only ever browsing relevant assets. Multi-select is fully supported, and a dynamic cap — calculated from the size of the chosen Work Order Template — is enforced with a progress bar so coordinators always know how many more assets they can add.
Duplicate detection keeps schedules clean. Before a new schedule is created, the system checks whether any of the selected assets already have an active schedule running on the same template and the same frequency. If they do, a warning screen surfaces the full detail of the conflict — the existing schedule's name, start date, end date, and frequency — and gives the coordinator the choice to replace it or keep both and proceed. Importantly, a different template or a different frequency is treated as a legitimate parallel schedule, not a conflict, so teams running monthly and quarterly programmes alongside each other won't see false warnings.
Cancelling open work orders is a deliberate action, not an automatic one. A "Cancel Schedule" quick action on the PM Schedule record page lets a coordinator bulk-cancel all linked work orders that are New or Scheduled when they need to. Work orders already In Progress or Completed are left untouched. By requiring a coordinator to explicitly trigger this, the design guards against accidentally cancelling work that was intended to continue.
Signature Capture — Sign Off on Completed Work
Field teams can now capture a signature directly on a work order or inspection record to confirm and approve work completion. Whether it's a technician signing off on a completed job or a client or supervisor approving an inspection, the signature is captured on the spot — on mobile, where the work actually happens.
Built on a Stronger Security Foundation
This release also completes a significant security infrastructure upgrade that has been in progress since our AppExchange approval last year.
All components — Apex classes, Lightning Web Components, and flows — have been updated to Salesforce API version 66.0, the Spring '26 release. Data access controls have been migrated to the modern user-mode pattern introduced in Spring '26, which means every database query and write in sonpito Essentials is now explicitly scoped to the permissions of the running user. This is a more precise and auditable approach than the pattern it replaces, and it aligns with Salesforce's current ISV security standards.
We've also resolved a security pattern finding in the package install handler and improved the performance of internal security audit logging. None of this is visible to users, but it matters for the long-term stability and compliance posture of every org that runs sonpito Essentials.
